Born in 1955, Patrick Chelli is a visual artist, photographer, portrait painter and sculptor. He lives and works in Paris, France.
Famous for his humanistic and unusual shots, as well as for his uncommon images taken of vernissages and international fashion shows, Chelli develops his art through diverse techniques such as sculpture, reliefs and photography. The last one allows him to highlight his talent as a producer/director.
Through his art, Chelli reveals human beauty, focusing on the theme of gesture, the central thread of his photographic work.
For a few years now, Chelli has not stopped inventing photographic collections from different points of view, completely quirky, taking the spectator’s look in the rear. The artist invents photographic fictions where spectators are characters taking part in stories which happen in front of our eyes. He transforms them into body languages, puts them in the flashy labyrinths of his collages, transforming the real and unsuspected life of the mechanism of fantasies – an aesthetic with many developments.
